On August 17, 1992, Allied Physicians of California (APC) was incorporated with the purpose of arranging health care services as an independent practice association (IPA).
NMM was formed as a management service organization for the purposes of providing services to medical companies and IPAs. The management services covered billing, collection, accounting, administrative assistance, quality assurance, marketing, compliance and education.
1997 & 1999
In 1997, NMM enters into an initial management and administrative service agreement (MSA) with APC.
In 1999, NMM entered into an amended and restated 30-year MSA with APC.
Dr. Kenneth Sim and Dr. Thomas Lam acquired a majority interest in both NMM and APC.
Concourse Diagnostic Surgery Center, LLC, an ambulatory surgery center, was formed on March 25, 2010 by a group of highly qualified physicians. The surgical center utilizes some of the most advanced equipment in Eastern Los Angeles County and San Gabriel Valley. The facility is Medicare Certified and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare, Inc.
APC acquired 25% interest in LaSalle Medical Associates (LMA). LMA operates four neighborhood medical centers treating children, adults and seniors in San Bernardino County.
ApolloMed formed its subsidiary ApolloMed ACO, which was selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to participate as an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) under the Affordable Care Act.
APC invested in Universal Care, Inc. (UCI). UCI is a privately held health plan that has been in operation since 1985 in order to help its members through the complexities of the healthcare system. UCI holds a license under the California Knox-Keene Health Care Services Plan Act to operate as a full-service health plan. UCI contracts with the CMS under the Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Program.
NMM merged with APCN-ACO and Allied Physicians ACO, LLC, resulting in both becoming wholly owned subsidiary of NMM.
NMM merged with ApolloMed in December 2017.
APAACO ( jointly owned by NMM and AMM) was approved to participate in the next generation accountable care organization model (NGACO Model), as of January 2017.
APC acquired Alpha Care Medical Group and Accountable Health Care IPA to expand into new markets and continue IPA growth.
